Where to Donate Tools

When we buy tools we do so usually for a specific project and then after we’re done with them, the tools collect dust and take up precious space in your garage.

Below you’ll find some places in the US where you can donate your tools.

Where to donate tools:

  • Habitat for Humanity ReStores
    Habitat ReStores are home improvement stores that accept donations of tools. Proceeds from the sales of these items help Habitat’s work in your community and around the world. Visit www.habitat.org
  • ToolBank
    ToolBank is a nonprofit organization affiliated that stewards a vast inventory of actual tools for use by charities to advance their missions, increase impact, and reduce costs. Visit www.toolbank.org
  • Your local tool library
    A tool library allow members of the community to borrow tools and equipment for their projects. Your local tool library will accept donations of your unwanted tools. Find your nearest tool library via www.localtools.org/find

Tip: When you donate, make sure your box or bag doesn’t have anything sharp or protruding in it.
